sigh. I jsut got volume 11.... just as you said, right up to the end of season 1. I get the feeling that as the manga drew on, the art style got sketchier, messier perhaps. S P O I L E R A L E R T So was it jsut me, or are others a wee bit disgruntled about the mangaka's depiction of kircheis' death? i can understand that she didn't want her manga to follow the anime too closely, but a lot of the subtle touches in the anime that i loved so much were done away with constant in-the-head narrations and flashbacks. I can't really say, because i haven't read the novels and only have the anime to compare with, however, it really felt that the other admirals were severely downplayed during that scene. :/ Though the scene is suppose to emphasize Reinhard and Kircheis. I'm not sure, but much of it felt less dignified, more over-emotional drama. (ie. annerose crying in front of the communications consul, Reinhard screaming a _lot_ more hysterically) I'm sorry, perhaps I'm nitpicking about it too much. I can't help but to laugh at the very end when Reinhard wonders if Yan Wenli will fill the void in his heart as a friend or an enemy, I couldn't help but laugh seeing the image of Yang with his sunglasses. it seems that is his "serious" picture _everyone_ thinks of when taking yang seriously. Thouh I suppose, putting a picture of yang with a toothbrush in his mouth during that scene wouldn't have been appropriate. :b Z107M
