a fun debate! A cartoon is the american term usually. it has a connotation
of being for children for the most part. cartoons are one area of
animation, which includes claymation, computer animation, and typical cels
'n paint. animation is just taking a series of still frames and viewing
them in a fast enough sequence that it depicts motion. hope this helps,
