I'll have to look again at where the scenes are placed, but I find it a
little weird to be worried about a spoiler so early in the series. Still,
better safe...

As for the topic, I must admit pity for those who find it difficult to
imagine this. I remember falling instantly in love with an older woman(ok,
'girl') at age 6. Chivalric love, admittedly, and also not the long
devotion that Sieg showed. However, not a stretch as far as I was
concerned.

One point: my own 'precocious' feelings were followed by a certain
backwardness in later years. Kircheis' later dependent personality may well
be uncomfortably understood by me.

Not that one cannot grow out of it. While most folks wonder, including most
of the characters in series, how the brat would have faired had he had
Seig's continued presence, I've been wondering how Seig would grow should
he feel unable to alter Lohengram's 'fall towards the dark side.'

I remember 'Marius'...
