One counter = respresents 4 fighters acting together in concert. Compare to the stats = for the Imperial Battleship, and you'll see how much damage they can do. = This was based on what's seen many times in the animation, a few = fighters (or even one or two) taking out a warship. In groups, they're = the most powerful weapon, but have a MAJOR limitation - short range. = Also, note two different sets of Armor Ratings and Attack Dice. They are = easier to hit when attacked by other fighters (obviously, it's a lot = easier to track a fighter with another fighter than try to hit one with = a warship's AA guns) and they'll do more damage against other fighters = than against a heavily armored warship. -Armor Rating 5 (vs. warships), 7 (vs. fighters); # of hits 1; = Morale 14; Movement maximum 15" per turn (but see restrictions below); = Armament (assumed to be a combination of all weapons) Attack Dice 1D6 = (vs. warships), 1D8 (vs. fighters), Range 2" only. Can only operate for = a maximum of either 8 turns or 120" , whichever comes first, before = having to return to an Imperial warship to refuel. If not, counter is = assumed to be "destroyed" and removed from the board. Refuelling takes 4 = turns to complete onboard a warship before fighters can be relaunched. = This explains why they are rarely used in the animation until the enemy = closes to (relatively) short range.=20 =20
