[LoGH] melee attacks really necessary?

I know in certain episodes of LOGH, defenders filled the contested area with
explosive gas particles to prevent firearm useage. However in an equal
amount of episodes, our Rose Knights fought mainly with battle axes while
firearms are still being used. Why not stick with the firearms and blast
away. I know it would make battles a lot easier and our hero won't look as
deadly as he would... but if that was me, I would bring a gun with lots of
ammo and pick them off one by one as they charge. Also from the last
episode, why would some experts like Scheqqupt turn his back to a room full
of people lying around? Why didn't he make meat chops out of him? Those
deflective shields sure are effective, but a shot in the foot can bring
those charging fools to a stop.
Why kill by honor then die if you can kill with wicked tricks and live?

I concur as well. Although there were days when I delete 20 massages within
a 24 hour cycle without reading them, I still think this ML is a nice medium
to stay in touch with fellow LoGH supporters. But if you have a slow
connection, that might be another story...
