[LoGH] Iserlohn civilians (minor spoiler)

I have what is probably a dumb question. Iserlohn Fortress is supposed to
have had a large civilian population, right? I mean, families with kids,
service industry (restaurants, bars, brothels, etc). So when Yang took the
fortress, what happened to all those people? Did they all become prisoners
of war? Were they sent back to the Empire? Did they just stay on the
Fortress and keep doing the same jobs? For some reason, I get this image
in my head of Lynn Minmay's uncle and aunt with their little restaraunt.
One day her uncle comes in, "Well dear, looks like the Alliance took the
station." And she answers, "Well, those boys have to eat too!"

"One of the mammals' evolutionary advantages was that they bore their young
alive. As research has conclusively shown, animals that bore their young
dead generally got nowhere."
