I ran into some folks at Worldcon who said they made FPA uniforms using commercial sewing patterns for A1 style bomber jackets as the basis for the design. If you aren't an experienced sewer, taking a basic pattern and making the alterations according to the directions for FPA uniforms given on the LOGH site may be your best bet. The directions on the site are fine but they don't have any diagrams or things that would make it easier for a new costumer to do the outfit. Adapting an existing pattern would at least give you an idea that you are on the right track.

I made my Reich uniform from scratch just using LOTS of screen grabbedimages to get the cut and design right. Even with doing that I have to re-do my cloak (the neck attachment isn't quite right ) but the tunic was perfect =^_^=

I hope to see you at a USA anime con. When will you be in the USA, Richard?? If you are here for Katsucon in February, look for me! I'll be the one dressed as Reinhart....
