Without commenting on the individual titles listed above...it should be
noted that the survey is of the Japanese public. 
What they vote for is going to be very different from what American anime
fandom, or Japanese anime fandom, or heck, the LoGH mailing list,
would vote for. 

IMO, the poll is a good mix of new and old which did proper justice to the
titles that are good, but overlooked or dismissed as "old" by most of
today's anime fandom.

The poll result only mentioned "Mobile Suit Gundam" which sounds to me
like the original series. But it could be possible that they combined
all the Gundam votes into one.

Galaxy Express: Eternal Fantasy was released in 1998. And soon there
will be a release of Maetel Legends, a prequel of sorts to GE999.
