I think this is the first time I think I have to save up the
passage from the mailings. I really don't know how to follow up this time.
I can't agree with you more on your idea. Actually, when I discuss with my
friend before about this story, she also mention these idea. First of all,
because this is a Legend of heroes, and a legend has to end. So the death
of these heroes marked the end of the legend. After the end of that
duration, the real history starts. In the whole series of history, there
is no period end up with so many heroes. Though not the death of every
person is logical, Mr Tanaka already create a world similar to a real
world --- There is no main characters, everyone is participating in the
act, they can disappear at any time.
Whereas the role of Hildegard, I really haven't think of it. But
as you have mentioned, it may fit well to your hypothesis. But in Mr.
Tanaka's story, he rarely create a female character, in all the ladies in
Reich, you can almost guess who will be the wife of Reinhard.
Other than people, I think I was more attracted by the battles
mentioned. In all the battles, they not only follow the strategy in real
battle, they also lead to 3-dimensional wars. In many of the battles,
especially those shown in Anime, most of them described how 3D wars would
be like.
During the a real battle, Mr. Tanaka also mention the feeling of
the soldiers and general. If he solely mentioned the feeling of
the general, I don't think I can feel the fear and sadness in the
battlefield.
