Hello, The Chinese edition of the 4 volumes of "side" stories, or "prequels" (according to Sue), are finally available. I've just gone through each one briefly. Here are some info of them that you may find interesting. Volume 1 covers the period from the Third Battle of Theamaetus to the Fourth, i.e. about the story of the year just preceding the beginning of Logh proper. It is concerned with the Reich mainly: the Klopstock plot, the fall of Marquisse of ??? (that damned actor who wants to murder Annerose), etc. (So here the chronological order of the events is different from that of the anime version.) Volume 2 is "Julian's diary": It covers the period from Yang's arrival at Iserlohn as Chief Commander of the Fortress and its fleet, to the start of his campaign against Frederica's father. So it's not so "pre". Volume 3 covers the period between the Battle of Wahnfried to the Sixth Attack on Iserlohn (by the FPA of course). Again it is concerned with the Reich. If there is an incompetant noble whom Reinhard should be grateful to, it must be old Graf von Grimmelshausen, a life-long friend of Friedrich IV... Although this guy is a less than competant soldier, he knows man well. He notices Reinhard's talent and ambition early on, but strangely enough, he protects him. Imagine if it is Brauschweig. Volume 4 is concerned with Yang's adventure after the Retreat of El Facil. I hope you enjoy the info. Reinhard-Siegfried
