With an understanding that Rick Sternbach (the Trek special effects specialist) is an ardent otaku, I try to draw parallels assuming that he probably got them from LOGH. Enterprises for the longest time didn't have these conceptualized maneuvering thrusters that had that spraying effect. Minor trivia I know but seeing a large ship maneuver like that makes it very detailed true to Hyperion tradition. Scales of ship battles are getting bigger from the ship to ship or ship to two ships approach... And they try a half hearted attempt to introduce strategy. Technology to block phasers are being used more making blade battles a requirement even though these pseudoscience fields don't block the use of firearms... And in First Contact with that one zero G battle had uniforms very much like Schenkopp's battle armor. Even the face mask was simular. That and Worf's use of his blade... You would almost think that he'd use some Ovlessor battle cry in that little skirmish... mmm... maybe its just me... mike
