Ah yes, that is just what this show needs - Kircheis will be revived several
years later when the Empire is in a dire crisis, with Reinhard being told that
that he was actually only "mostly dead" and had been put in suspended
animation while they found the way to cure his injury. Kircheis could then go
on to nobly sacrifice himself AGAIN to save the universe.

(But ya know, as far as the fanfic, later on in the last episode Reinhard *IS*
in fact sitting disconsolately by Kircheis body in the same type of
cryo-coffin Braunschweig was in.... just a thought)
