True, oberstein's efficiency is certainly clear, and he may be well suited
for his position. But don't you think reinhard would have been able to
handle those situations without oberstein? just in a different manner,
though?

Loyalty to oberstein? well.. I'll leave that to his dalmation, but if I
found out the next day that my commander was a bone thin guy with cold
cybernetic eyes... I wouldn't be too thrilled about going into battle...
So its very easy to see why he couldnt' just get rid of reinhard and seize
power for himself.

Erm. gee, we could start dwelling into how almost everyone probably has
some smutt on their file, but its not that they're asexual, but most of
them have that sorta personality where tehre's something more to life...
I mean, I would have been sorta disappointed if Yang went out to some bar
every now and then and found a tasty prostitute. Like a lot of characters
they had some other person they loved in their mind, and didn't try to
distract themselves with the comfort of some other in there bed.
(Okay, so reinhard was a little bad :b)

Um.. well don't worry I'm sure Poplan and Schenkopp made up for most of
the "asexual" ppl. And um.. Reinhard, yeah he's the handsomest thing on 2
legs, but he's too preoccupied with seizing the universe for a simple romp
in the hay stack.

I dunno about that. I mean we get breif flashes of their histories and
private lives.. but have you m noticed that most of the tiem we do see
their families is when they're on a short visit, or when the family is
being told that their father or husband is dead? It makes a very sad
point, that these men have devoted their lives to war, so yeah, it is a
tragedy.

Um. I think that those character human interest eps are there, but they're
just so closely intertwined with the war itself, rather than the world
stopping to let these ppl do something. It was like.. hm.. I forget his
name, but that admiral in the first season when they were ordered to do
the scorched earth ploy and when he saw his childhood love.

*^_^* that would have been intersting. But I noticed after a few eps she
sorta disappeared completely from the cast, does she show up later on ever
again? I thought it was sorta sad because she was sorta one of annerose's
few friends to hang out with.

Oh, by all means, go ahead.
But yeah, I suppose you're right, they don't have much fun other than
their barroom brawls like reuental and mittemeyer :b But hey, tehy all
find small pleasures in life... Mecklinger's a painter... Oberstein has
his dalmation, and Meuller struck me as an awful little gossip monger....
