The last Chief Commander of the Alliance Fleet was a dummy. While the only
good thing he did was giving Yang some freedom, He made mistakes that cost
the Alliance defeat in the last two major battle.

Battle of Ratemario: Alliance had only 30000 ships, one third of the enemy
force. Despite his disadvantage, he still boldly chose to take the
offensive. Then, when the unexpected attack by his forward fleet gave the
Alliance a chance at breaking the Reich in half, he issued order to stop.
Great idea. The double snake close in, surround them, and the end.
If Bucock didn't pull off his forward fleet but instead pour in the whole
fleet into the center, he could have broke through and and achieve a tactic
advantage. He could have attack the left/right wing of the Reich Fleet in
the back.

That decision could have bought the Alliance 1 more day and Yang would have
been in time to group with the main alliance.

Battle of
When Bucock sealed the tunnel, and got Franhaite in a cross fire between
the main fleet body. He had no body at his back and a chance to totally
annihilate a Reich fleet. But he had to go after ReinHard and put the main
fleet into the open. Whatever chance the Alliance got, Bucock's decision
took it away.

What Bucock should have done is that he should have given Franhaite a
decisive blow and then just leave the battle field for the next battle.

With the Alliance at such disadvantage, Bucock should not engage the enemy
main body. While a Tactical success doesn't overturn a stragtegic
disadvantage, a series of Tactical success would have made the difference.
He should not look for a decisive battle between main forces but rather
successful skimish with the enemy. If he did, Alliance would have lived a
little longer.
