Heh, actually I had posed the question but was afraid to respond, so I
guess I should thank you for the opportunity.

I've never read the novels, feel free to correct me, but I've also noticed
several parts in the manga that never happened in the anime, well, at
least up to eps 42, middle of second season, such as how reuental and
mittemeyer became acquainted with reinhard. So I guess this is in small
defense of the manga as I know it. Not to mention I have to wonder about
any other differences between the three...

Hm. A friend once told me that in the end if reinhard had straight out
said no, oberstein was the type of person who would have just backed down
and accepted his decision, but it was radically out of character for him
to go behind reinhard's back like that.

Well, in general, Ms. Michihara seems to make the story a lot more light
hearted. Not saying that it isn't serious, but her humor is definitely
not as subtle as the anime. So would this be why ppl think the manga is
so radically different?
