No, Reinhard and Kirchies are not lovers. They are just very close friends.
Kircheis had died before Reinhard became Emperor.
The 2nd movie covers the period immediately after the end of the 1st movie to
the 2nd episode of the OVA series.
How does it end ? You mean the complete series ? To put it in 1 sentence -
almost everyone died.
There is no single battle that ended it all. Most of the chief characters died
outside the battlefield.
