What people were criticizing was not shoujo anime (such as FY), but mahou shoujo, a subgenre. One of our main points against the genre was that one of it's defining characteristics was the excessive "cute and fluffy factor". For myself, while having nothing specific against cuteness, I cannot really respect a show that serves no other purpose than to be cute. Or something like that. > Jennifer, I didn't expect that, I have rarely found anyone who truly likes > all genres. > Secondly, a good example is Fushigi Yuugi. That series has more emotional > depth than just about any anime. However, it starts out as mostly fluff (I > do know a few people that got tunred off when the series stopped being > fluff). > > > _______________________________________________________________ > Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
