Oh, it's that greater good thing...

Isn't that the way most of Reinhard's followers feel? Like Mittermyer and
Reuental. Hmm, come to think of it, it was practically a criteria for
joining Reinhard's command.
-- that, and the fact that it helps if they're all young and relatively
droolsome. I seem to remember that it was a deliberate choice on Reinhard's
part.(the relative youth and not the beauty part, although...)
Heh, has anyone notice that in the manga, you could pretty well tell whether
a character is "good" or "bad" by the way he looks? The nobles, for
instance, look positively dissipated. Must be all that carousing. :)

Given the "Inferior Genes Exclusion Law" and the bunch of snobs called the
nobles, there seems to be a pretty big similarity between the Empire and
Lois McMaster Bujold's Barrayar.(excellent author that) "The Vor is a system
based on nepotism" or words to that effect...
Even the post about the nukes and the thirteen day war. Hmm, it's not that
far a stretch for the imagination to postulate that the reason for the IGEL
law was partly because of the mutations caused by the radiation.
All of a sudden, I have a mental image of people abandoning earth after the
thirteen day war and taking to the stars.

(don't you just _love_ it when you find points of similarities between
things you like and thought had no real connections?)
