On the advice of a friend who already picked it up, I just bought a copy of the October 1999 issue of "Animage", the Japanese anime magazine. In it there is a 2-page spread on Anime Expo from July on page 120-121. Of particular interest is that on p. 121 there are some little comments and related sketches by a few of the Japanese GoHs. One of these was Ms. Sachiko Kamimura, (who did art work on "Venus Wars" and other anime), who drew a little sketch of ME in my LoGH admiral's uniform, obviously from the opening of the masquerade. When they introduced the judges each one stood up and took a bow, and when they got to me (since I was one of AX masquerade judges) I stood up, waved my Field Marshal's baton and shouted "Sieg Kaiser Reinhard!" Since we judges were at the very front, the Japanese GoHs reserved seats were right behind us, so she was probably only a row or 2 behind me when I said this. In her little sketch she shows me shouting this and she inserts herself in the corner commenting (I am told) "Hey Mister - if you said that in Japan you'd get stabbed by the fans!" (Anyone who can read Japanese and can get this issue verifying the translation or any of the other surrounding comments would be appreciated). But hey - I got a sketch in Animage! Woo woo! ============================================================================== "Zu jeder Zeit, an jeder (sic) Ort, bleibt das Tun | Walter Amos der Menschen das gleiche..." - Galactic Heroes II | amos(at)sedl.org
