Hmm, makes sense given that Japanese have historically looked at WWII as
a battle of Asians versus Europeans. Yang would then be kind of a
surrogate Yamomoto for democracy.
When I was a bigtime Traveller player, GDW attempted to increase
flagging player interest by starting the Fifth Frontier War. FW5 pitted
the Imperium versus the Zhodani, a branch of humanity run by psionic
nobility. They literally had Thought Police, and they made you happy
whether you liked it or not. American players were utterly horrified
and gladly ran campaigns against the Bad Guys, but many British players
sided with the Zhodani! All a matter of cultural perspective, I
guess....
