From: PumuklWell... ships in LotGH seem to have limited shield capacity, at least enough to halt energy attacks made from a long enough distance. These shields seem to be focused forward, primarily, and I wouldn't hazard to guess as to how effective they'd be at stopping an EMP. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Shielding against emp is actually pretty easy, but, effectiveness would depend on amplitude and frequency range of the em pulse. There's also the question of production quality on the shielding. If there's a small flaw somewhere, you're in trouble. Instead of EMP, how about a nuke to compress mass beyond desnity required for black hole creation, resulting in a singularity? The resulting creation would dissapear instantly, and all mass that were used to create it would be converted to energy (a la e=mc^2) and released as gamma/neutrino burst. The efficiency of a nuclear bomb is actually pretty low (below 5-10%), versus a dissapearing black hole's efficiency is 100%. __________________________________________________ FREE Email for ALL!
