Yang Wen-Li

After his father's death, Yang found himself suddenly poor when his father's merchandise turned out to be fakes.

Wanting to study history, Yang was forced to get his education by joining the armed services in 783UC. Never a great fan of war, but knowledgeable of almost every battle and strategy used for countless centuries.

In 787UC, he graduated from the academy majoring in strategic studies.   His first assignment was Statistics at the Joint Operations Head Office.

At age 21 (788UC), he was promoted and assigned to the Residential Unit Staff on El Facile.     On September 19th, the Empire attacked and due to his heroic actions, he was promoted two grades to Lieutenant Commander.  A month later, he was reassigned to Econia.

In January of 789UC, Commander Yang returned to Heinessen where he joined the 8th Fleet's Strategy Division.  Like most Free Planets Alliance officers in the early 790s, he then participated in the 5th and 6th Iserlohn Assaults as a strategic advisor earning a promotion to Captain during the process.  Upon his return to Heinessen in 794UC, Yang Wen-Li became Julian Mintz's guardian.

In the fall of 795UC, Commodore Yang Wen-Li assigned to the 2nd Fleet's Flagship Patoroklos as Fleetcom's Assistant Chief of Staff.

After the battle at Astate, Yang was again promoted and given command of a newly commissioned fleet with an impossible mission: to conquer the Imperial Iserlohn fortress. The young Rear Admiral succeeded, and then urged the Free Planets to sue for peace. Instead of following his advice, the Free Planets invaded the Empire, eventually causing civil war on both sides.
Unknown to Yang at the time, Reinhard had engineered a coup in the Free Planets, which he later overthrew. Still unable to retire, Yang was put in command of the Iserlohn Garrison.
