> I have to respectfully disagree Lee. My point is for LOGH to be released in DVD FIRST in Japan before convincing a US company to pick it up. Anime series are almost 99% first released on DVD first in Japan, and then in the US. It doesn't work the other way around. Now, if Tokuma was willing to open up there US branch again, there would be no need to petition a US company, but to petition Tokuma themselves to release it in North America.

I just don't see this happening. Even in Japan, LoGH is a niche series we're
lucky it got made at all and we're lucky it's on laserdisc as well as VHS.

www.ginei.com and discussions with the producers have made it fairly clear
that a DVD would need to be a 'global' production.

Having said all that, a possile 'angle' for a US licensee might be to make a
region 0 international DVD that Tokuma could sell in Japan and elsewhere.
Perhaps this could be done if Tokuma would then give a discount to the
licensee. (Hell perhaps you could expand this and have say a European
Licensee, Tokuma and a US licensee do this as a joint venture and just have
many different subtitled tracks.)

If we wait for Japan to put LoGH on DVD, it will simply never show up here.
