I believe volume 8 was just published last month... I just got mine last
weekend at Kinokuniya SF, they still have a copy of it left when I last
checked... so.... anyway, the manga version is going at a very slow pace -
it is running at a bimonthly magazine from Tokuma Shouden, so it's going to
be a while before we even get to part II of the anime series. BTW, there is
also a manga version of the side story "Wings of Gold" from which the later
animated version was based on (thus the change in character design for
those who noticed.) Then, two ilustrations collections have been published
from the same publisher.. the last one suppose to have manga done by
Tanaka-sensei himself ^_^ I have yet to see it so I don't know how it is
different from the first one they published (the first one was about 20+
color illustrations... but she hasn't drawn that many color ones since the
first one, so I am not sure if the pictures repeat)
