Hello, Reuental, Kempf and Bittenfeld are preventing Ansbach from committing suicide when Mittermeyer is giving first aid to Kircheis. I don't think Reuental has ever been jealous of Kircheis. All his "dangerous" remarks that hint at his possible "rebellion" are after Kircheis' death. Anyway none of the admirals are jealous of "Mr. Nice Guy" Kircheis. At that scene, they are completely shocked by Ansbach's daring. This explains their inaction for a few seconds. It seems that Oberstein is the second quickest (ie. next to Kircheis) to respond in that scene. He steps up in front of Reinhard. But if Kircheis hadn't acted that fast, Oberstein would still have proved to be a poor shield against the rocket. Kircheis dies of the same kind of injury that Yang dies of. Mecklinger tells Mittermeyer that his handkerchief will not help because Kircheis' aortis(?) (that "big tube" that directs blood from the heart to the rest of the body) has broken. Yang's case is the same although he's hit at the leg. Reinhard-Siegfried
