Tactics and BGM

I was recently watching one of those PBS documentaries (for those not in
the States, PBS is an American TV network which shows a lot of
educational-type programming). Part of a series called Russia's Wars.
Normally, this would have nothing to do with logh. But one of the
segments, about the Battle of Stalingrad, struck me as very LoGH like in
that there was classical BGM set to the clips of the battle scenes.
Matter of fact, the BGM used was from Beethoven's Seventh (?) Symphony,
which I believe is also used in LoGH and on the New Wars Symphonies
Soundtrack. Anyone know which season is the New Wars Symphonies from?

Also, I was wondering if anybody else out there was interested in the
tactical and strategic aspects of the battles fought in the series. Are 
any of the battles of the series based on real historical battles?
