Lots of questions and one or two Spoilers

Hello,
This is to anybody who's seen more of LoGH than I have, which I guess is most
of you. To date I've seen 'My Conquest is the Sea Stars' and got the
translations of the first book, and part of the second off the internet. Plus
a few scattered episode summaries, or scripts. Since I don't speak a word of
Japanese I've been kind of limited in my resources. But from what I've seen
it really seems great, so different from other anime I've seen. A lot of
subtlety, good animation, and great use of music. The people I've showed it
to seem to agree.
Spoilers Starting... Now
It's drawn me in, and so now I need to know everything. Being a very
impatient person, and completely unafraid of being spoiled I've looked for an
overview of the events of the series or the second movie but haven't had much
luck. Instead I've seen a lot of suggestive images that tease me. (including
one really terrible one with Kircheis dead in Reinhard's arms)
If anyone would help out a dense newcomer and give me an overview, it'd be
really appreciated. You can send it straight to me if you feel bad about
revealing so much. (PunkKat@aol.com) Or if that's too complicated an
undertaking, you could these few questions.
Most importantly, because he's my favorite character, what happens to
Kircheis? And are Reinhard and Kircheis close friends, or lovers? A friend
and I disagree. She's only seen the first movie as well, but thinks it's
pretty obvious, I don't see it. How, and when exactly does Kircheis die,
before or after Reinhard becomes Emperor? Why does Reinhard "lose his
sister's love?" What's the second movie about? And the big one, how does it
end? What's the battle that ends it all? These answered along with any other
bones you have to throw, would be great.
Sorry this has turned out so long, but I've got a curious mind, and
caffeinated blood. =)
