LoGH Movie 1 and 2: Huh?

I've seen both movies and I was extremely disappointed. The second movie
is just a total rehash of the first with a little more buildup and without
Bolero what gives?

I haven't done a side by side comparison but I even think a great deal of
the footage was directly copied from the first to the second.
Anybody know why a different story wasn't done?
