No. The second movie is a remake of the first three episodes of the oav series.
The first three eps bear an uncomfortable resemblance to the first movie, but
they're different and distinct "battles". As to why they remade the first
three eps, it's because they really needed it. I've always held that those
episodes were the worst of the series, and I've had trouble introducing
people to the series because of that lame beginning.
