Re: titles ... Hilda is officially known as "Kaiserin" - although her duties are somewhat unsettled. I always thought the Japanese pronunciation of Empress would be Kisaki - ? (It's in my dictionary!) They use the Empress kanji, but it's always got the Kaiserin "ruby" next to it in katakana. (In books) Before marriage, she was just Countess-Apparent (nodle title) ble title) and Kaiser's Chief Private Secretary (work title). She has to quit her work as secretary when they become engaged. (She almost wququit after they slept together, but einhartReinhart wouldn't let her!) After they marry, the quesiont is, whether or not she will continue in her accustomed advisory role, or simply become his wife and heir-bearer. (I haven't read far enough yet to see which she turns out to be, but I suspect she can't just sit quietly with her mouth shut, because she never did before :) - Sue
